Central Oregon

Oregon's High Desert is home to over 30golf courses, including Sunriver's Crosswater. Each of these spectacular golf courses offer views of Mt. Bachelor, the Three Sisters, Mt. Jefferson and several other dramatic scenes, all while winding through ancient Juniper forests.

As a special treat, players will notice that their ball travels just a little farther than it would on the coast or in other parts of the region. Courses in Central Oregon are also available for play throughout most of the year.

Here are just a few of the courses we include in our trips:

  • Aspen Lakes -- Aspen Lakes Golf Course was named one of the "Top Ten Affordable Golf Courses" for 2001 by Golf Digest, confirming what many of its enthusiastic players have known.

Taking advantage the unique volcanic Central Oregon landscape with its tall ponderosa pines and unique scented junipers, often hundreds of years old, the course combines challenging and enjoyable play with a new view of the Cascade mountains at almost every turn.

  • Eagle Crest -- Eagle Crest is a full-service destination resort located just outside the city of Redmond on 1700 acres in the high desert of Central Oregon. Nestled against the majestic Cascade Mountains near Bend, Oregon, Eagle Crest boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year with an annual rainfall of less than nine inches.

All of Eagle Crest's courses are carved out of an ancient juniper forest nestled at the foot of the majestic Cascades and are known for their meticulous grounds-keeping, fast, true greens, and beautiful summer wildflower displays. Due to its lower elevation, Eagle Crest has the longest quality golf season in Central Oregon and is able to keep one championship course open year-round. Ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon!

  • Sunriver -- Graced with carefully preserved wetlands, forested meadows, and sparkling waters, the 54 holes at Sunriver are some of the best golf in the Western United States. Crosswater, the heart-land style golf course honored by Golf Digest as one of "America's 100 Greatest" will challenge, as will the variety offered by the finely conditioned Woodlands and dramatic Meadows.

Sunriver also offers places to improve your golf game at its practice facilities and its Academy of Golf.

  • Widgi Creek -- A round of golf at Widgi Creek Golf Club is an experience not to be missed. Each hole offers a unique, yet fair challenge for all golfing abilities.

Characterized by fast undulation greens, it is considered one of the top 5 courses in the area. Golf Digest called Widgi Creek, "the sleeper in Central Oregon" and Golf Magazine called it a "must play". Widgi Creek will always be considered to be among the best maintained in the area.
